One of my favorite aspects of writing editorial copy is the interplay between imagery and copy. This site treatment featured such a fun, beachy image with bold and bright swimwear that "Make Waves" felt natural. To tie it all together, I kept the sub-header conversational but informative so the product assortment would be clear to the customer.

This creative treatment lived at the top of Zulily's homepage during the 2022 holiday season. In the final stakeholder review, site merchandising requested a nod to the upcoming Christmas holiday without insinuating that these are products one might buy as a gift. I proposed "Foundations for your holiday look" to maintain that festive feel while staying true to the nature of shapewear.

While Zulily has branched out from exclusively selling baby and maternity goods, they're still one of the biggest divisions sold on the site. I offered creative direction to the copywriter for this homepage treatment, opting for straightforward header copy and a sentimental subhead that speaks to the journey of new parenthood.

The challenge of this homepage interrupter was describing each assortment without reiterating the price point already included in the image overlay. To accomplish this, I chose "value" and "premium" to represent the higher price points and used "savings" and "budget-friendly" to describe the less expensive products.

Capturing a brand's essence is always a fun task - what makes adidas, adidas? What should the Zulily customer know about this brand? The answer: Technologically innovative gear for all manner of sports and activities, optimized for comfort and performance. Oh, and don't forget the style factor.

For Mother's Day 2023, Zulily partnered with actress Busy Philipps to curate a Mother's Day gift advisory for all manner of moms and mother figures in one's life. Customers would sign up for texts, answer a few questions about their mom and be directed to one of five events, each curated for a specific Mom persona. Working alongside PR, I named and wrote copy for each of these personas: The Adventurer, The Foodie, The Trendsetter, The Hostess and The Cozy Queen.

As a former horse girl, I felt uniquely qualified to write a description for this particular personalized tee, drawing attention to the custom graphic and lightweight material with a bit of humor.

Writing jewelry copy is all about the details. For this artistic cuff, I highlighted the materials and the contrast between the deep blue hue of the agate stone and the shimmering pearl embellishments.

There's a handbag for every occasion, and this tote could easily be there for all of them. I focused most of my attention on its sheer functionality while nodding to the thoughtful, stylish details characteristic of Anne Klein handbags.

A watch is so much more than simply a timepiece and I aimed to showcase that with this product description, drawing attention to the understated design, versatility and style appeal of this Daniel Wellington watch.
